But here's the catch: since you mainly use touch on the iPad, it might seem like there's no concept of keyboard shortcuts. So how can you check an app's shortcuts on your iPad and then map them to your TourBox Elite Plus?
If you've used a third-party keyboard with your iPad, you probably already know that most Apple apps, and even many third-party apps, offer a simple shortcut to show all available keyboard shortcuts.
That shortcut is triggered by the Command key (⌘). Try it: connect your Bluetooth keyboard to your iPad, hold down the Command key for about two seconds, and a window will appear showing the shortcuts for that screen. For example, on the Home screen, you'll see a list like this.
This trick works in nearly all Apple-made iPad apps. Most third-party apps, like Lightroom, also include built-in shortcuts.
Even the App Store supports keyboard shortcuts. In the App Store, holding down Command for two seconds shows a short list, mostly for switching between different sections of the store.
Apple and other developers have done an amazing job bringing keyboard support to a touch-based iPad.
When you connect your TourBox Elite Plus, the iPad treats it like a Bluetooth keyboard. This means you can use the same method to check out the shortcuts in any app.
Specifically, open the TourBox Console app and click on "Custom Presets." Then assign the "Command" to any TourBox button.
Next, let's use Lightroom as an example. Open Lightroom and press and hold the button you set to Command. You'll see all the shortcut keys for Lightroom on your iPad.
Extra Tip:
Now, you can map those shortcuts to your TourBox. For example:
Once you've finished setting up, everything becomes easy. In Lightroom, simply turn the Knob to scroll through your photos. Tap the Short button to give a 0-star rating and the Tall button to give a 1-star rating.
Isn't it great how simple it is to view the hidden shortcuts on your iPad? Try mapping your favorite app's shortcuts to TourBox now and start your creative journey.
